None at all. Almost everyone starts as a beginner, kids and adults alike. We teach from the very first bow.
Comfortable clothes you can move in. We train barefoot. If you've claimed the intro, your uniform is included.
Absolutely. Parents and visitors are welcome. Call or text and we'll tell you the best class to watch.
Our kids intro is $49 for 4 weeks of classes (2 a week) plus a free uniform. Ask us about the family special and adult intros.
We have classes for young kids, kids, teens and adults, grouped by age so everyone trains with their peers.
The opposite. Traditional Tang Soo Do is built on respect and self-control. Parents tell us the first change they see is better listening at home.
Shy kids are some of our best students. Instructors pair them with friendly partners and celebrate small wins until confidence takes over.
Yes. Confidence and awareness stop most problems before they start, and kids learn safe self-defense as a last resort.
No. Many of our adults started after years off, or never trained before. Every technique scales to your level.
Tang Soo Do (our karate) focuses on kicks, strikes and forms. Hapkido adds what happens up close: grabs, joint locks, escapes and throws.
Yes. You learn to fall safely before anyone throws you, and partners train at a controlled speed.
Yes. Our family program puts parents and kids on the same mat.
Chief Master Ismael Roman, a 6th-degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and Sin Moo Hapkido who has trained since 1978, leads the school with his team of instructors.
Master Roman was promoted in the World Tang Soo Do Association by Grandmaster Shin, who was Chuck Norris's first instructor in Korea.
